SaWhat is Clara Lounge?
There are two types of lounges at the airport.
One of them is a lounge jointly operated by credit card companies.
It’s what’s commonly known as a credit card lounge.
You can generally enter if you hold a Gold Card or higher.
Depending on the airport, it is often located before you go through security.
There are also some at Haneda Airport after you pass through the security checkpoint.
The second option is the lounges provided by JAL and ANA.
This is located after you pass through the baggage screening area.
To gain access, you must either become an elite member of that airline or purchase a first-class ticket.
The Sakura Lounge is a lounge operated by JAL.
Use the priority lane for carry-on baggage screening
This time, I used the Sakura Lounge at Naha Airport.
First, you’ll go through the baggage screening area.
If you are eligible for the Sakura Lounge, you can use the priority lane.

Since the regular lane was also empty that day, there was absolutely no point in using the priority lane. lol
Once you’ve cleared the baggage inspection, you’ll find the entrance to the Sakura Lounge on your left.

This is what the entrance looks like.

The types of cards accepted for entry are displayed.

The cherry blossom logo looks great.

By the way, the Diamond Premium Lounge shown in the image is available even to elite members among
This service is available only to JGC Premier, JMB Diamond, or First Class ticket holders.
There is a separate security checkpoint at the entrance.
A Sneak Peek Inside the Sakura Lounge
Alright, let’s dive in.
As you walk through the automatic doors, you’ll find yourself in a long hallway.

You can enjoy a little something special here.
The reception desk is located just past the hallway.
I was too shy to take photos, so I excerpted this from the JAL website.

When you tap the leader, the receptionist will guide you in the right direction.

Since I’m using the Sakura Lounge this time, I’ll head to the right.
You’ll see lockers right as you enter.

You can check your luggage and relax at your leisure.
In addition to lockers, there are also copy machines.
Since someone was using it this time, I’m just marking it.

Once inside, you’ll be surprised by how many people are there.
It’s not quite as good as a credit card lounge, but
I’ve come to realize that there are actually quite a few JGC and Sapphire members.
The last time I used the Diamond Premium Lounge, there weren’t many people there, so
To be honest, I was surprised by how crowded the Sakura Lounge was.
Due to the large number of visitors, photography is discouraged; this excerpt is taken from the JAL website.
There are many sofas, making the interior a relaxing space.

All-you-can-drink beer and awamori♪
I think this is probably the main difference between credit card lounges and other services.
Soft drinks and coffee are also available in the card lounge, but
The Sakura Lounge has a beer tap.

The Sakura Lounge in Naha served Orion Beer♪
Personally, I think it’s a good choice because tourists can try the local beer.
By the way, the Diamond Premium Lounge at Naha Airport serves Premol and Yebisu.
And when you think of Okinawa, this is it

That’s awamori, isn’t it?
I think this will also help get you in the mood for a trip to Okinawa!
It’s nice that you can drink for free
We also have fruit juice.
Fruit juice is recommended for those who don’t drink alcohol.
There’s also a drink bar, but since you’re here, you should definitely try it at least once.

Tropical fruits like guava and shikuwasa are sure to lift your spirits.
I always find myself thinking that milk might actually be a good deal when you consider the price.
I’m a penny-pincher.
For snacks, there’s a mixed arare and kaki-pee snack.

The style here is to scoop it up with a large spoon.
The kaki-pee keeps rolling around, so my hands are shaking. lol
And then there are the candies often found on airplanes, too.

At the Diamond Premium Lounge, light snacks are included here.
They have bread, soup, and juicy rice balls (rice balls made with seasoned rice), so
It’s more than enough to satisfy a small hunger.
The Sakura Lounge ended up
While there are some similarities compared to the Card Lounge, I personally think this is a good option.
Points I personally found beneficial
- Since we’ve already passed through the security checkpoint, we have plenty of time and are feeling relaxed.
- You can spend time in the lounge even if your flight is delayed
- They serve alcoholic beverages (though I can’t drink, lol).
How it’s no different from a credit card lounge
- It’s fairly crowded.
- No snacks, just persimmon seeds
Although the lounge is part of the JGC membership benefits, I personally think the service is more than sufficient.
Thank you, JAL.
Thank you for watching.
